I Heart F.O.s

August 28, 2007

Yes, I know, it’s been awhile

But I would just like to say there has been much knitting on this knitting train. :)

Okay, I’d like to start off by saying I finished the cream scarf that I have been working on forever last night. :) (No pictures though, just imagine a long cream colored scarf, seriously that’s what it looks like, garter stitch and all)

Numero Dos, I finished the WILD SOCKS!!

Wild SocksWild SocksWild SocksWild SocksWild SocksWild SocksWild SocksWild Socks

Yay!! Even though the second sock is slightly-yet noticably-bigger than the first. :( Oh well, I’ll just put some elastic in the ribbing around the ankle and all should be well after I wash them. :)

Here’s a blast from the past– (my first sock/s-the second isn’t really a sock…)

And recently my dad went up to our cabin and brought my beloved “Paul Frank” sockmonkey that my parents gave me when I was little. :) It’s probably one of the obvious name brand things that I own, but here’s his debut after 2 washings through the washer and a quick attempt at the dryer then hung up… boy, was he smelly!

More adventures of ‘Frank’ soon! Otherwise I’m off to finish my navy blue cardigan and watch a marathon of the O.C.

can’t think of a good title… :)

August 22, 2007

Today, I would say, was a very good day. I played on the computer for hours… :), I knitted, and ate to my hearts content. :)

Remember this? It’s come back to haunt me. :( The gosh-darn nose is being stupid again. Very very frustrating. My mom is taking me to the ear, nose and throat doctor tomorrow to get the left side (the side that the nursedoctor said “oh, that side doesn’t need it” PFFFH) I’m hoping it’s all allergies and that I can do something (like avoid whatever I’m allergic to) to make them stop. But we’re going to a different office place and a different doctor so that’s good. :) I’m just mainly sad because I won’t be able to do any physical activity for a week (eg no tennis).

And remember this? The Beacon Hill Shawl currently looks more like this:

Beacon Hill Shawl ProgressBeacon Hill Shawl ProgressBeacon Hill Shawl ProgressBeacon Hill Shawl ProgressBeacon Hill Shawl ProgressBeacon Hill Shawl Progress

Yes! I have completed the demon named “Ribbing-on-rediculously-small-needles-for-four-and-a-half-stinking-inches”!! Now, as you see I now have the monotonous task of repeating the same four rows for 35 inches straight (total of 39.5 inches). At least it’s the fun part, and the pattern is so easy that I have it memorized. :)

TDR ProgressAhh, the Top-Down Raglan Numero Dos! A few (like 5) more rows of progress in yellow. :) Not much, I know.

Sensational Vegetable BookAhhh, the Vegetarianism lives on! I’ve only been a vegetarian for 3 or 4 days now, and loving it! :) I feel so healthy—I know, it’s gone to my head a bit….

That’s basically it. NOTE: I would like to make a ravelry group with the top-down raglan so if any people on ravelry want to comment me here or message me there, I would appreciate it since you have to have at least 3 or 4 people who are going to join the group so it’s not a sad group of 1 person… :) (Also banner and buttons would be nice eventually)

I crochet too! :)

August 20, 2007

Basically my whole blog is devoted to knitting, right? Wrong. :) This proves that I also crochet (not as much) and knit. :)

And of course, I also knitted too! (I finished this scarf two nights ago)

Mucho knitting… :)

I also stayed up until 2:30 in the morning last night (I know really late). I don’t really know what it was, I had this underlying erge to clean/organize. So I ended up organizing my dresser, top of my desk, this one “put-all-of-the-stuff-that-has-no-other-spot” shelf on my bookshelf, in front of my bookshelf, and organizing some yarn into my yarn cabinet.

Oh and some traumatizing news… so the other night (two nights ago) my mom and I went to the local movie rental place and we rented “Wild Hogs” (hilarious) and “Fast Food Nation” (O-M-G). “Fast Food Nation” was probably one of the most disturbing movies I have seen in my life. I had recently been thinking about being a vegitarian (because of the fatty meat) and let’s just say that after that movie, I am officially vegitarian and I will never eat anything (not even the water) from a fast food animal killing restraunt. I suggest you watch the movie if you want to never eat meat or animals ever again. :) I felt like throwing up after it. BLAH.

Okay, so it’s currently pooring outside and I think I’m going to go knit or play the Sims 2 or watch the O.C. By the way, my amazingly kind sister bought the Sims 2 University Expansion pack for me… can you say OBSESSED??

Have a great day everyone!

Mr.Knitty

August 19, 2007

Okay, with the current inspiration of the Travels With Swatchy blog and ravelry group still fresh in my mind, I remembered an amazing piece of knitting that I had made years ago. :) I now introduce you all to the one, the only, MR.KNITTY!!!! (I know, creative name, right?)

Mr. KnittyMr. Knitty

Mr. KnittyMr. KnittyMr. Knitty is addicted to the Rubiks Cube. :) He can make it from solid colors on each side to checkerboard. :D

Mr. KnittyMr. Knitty is also addicted to Sudoku. :) He likes the easy side the best though. :)

Mr. KnittyHe also loves to play a little Hide and Seek in his free time. :)

Mr. KnittyHe’s also a bread sniffer.

Mr. KnittyHe loves to relax on my bed too.

Mr. KnittyAnd when he isn’t relaxing, he’s knitting! :)

Mr. KnittyHe also loves to use up my minutes on my cell phone…. (j/k)

Mr. KnittyBest of all, he loves to sit in my window sill and watch the rain. :)

So this is Mr.Knitty and there will be plenty of more adventures with him. :) I might make a semi smaller one and take the smaller one with me.

I hope you all enjoy.

Swatchy!!

August 17, 2007

Okay, so I’m at the highly addicted-to-ravelry phase this morning, and I found this. (I think you have to be a ravelry member in order to see it though)

(Note: All photos here-on this post- I did not take nor come up with the idea of Swatchy, Knittah-from ravelry- did)

I do hope to make something like this soon. :) But I would like to thank Knittah for the inspiration.

Many Many PICTURES!!!!

August 12, 2007

Yay! I finally found the time to take the pictures of my finished objects and upload them online. :)

And now, of course with finishing these three projects, I also have to say that I started another one. :)

TDR Numero DosTDR Sweater Numero Dos

I call it ‘Top-Down Raglan Sweater Numero Dos’. :)

Also I have to say that I also went to the local yarn store in Cannon Beach, ‘Coastal Yarns’. OMG!!! Everything was BEAUTIFUL in there. The down side was the nothing could go in the wash and dryer because most of it was wool or alpaca, or fibers that would shrink or felt. :( So I got:

Cannon Beach Yarn Some APLACA!!! :)

Cannon Beach YarnI started a scarf with one of the colors.

Cannon Beach YarnA sock with another.

Cannon Beach YarnAnd nothing with the other. :)

I’m thinking of frogging the sock. Meh, dunno yet. :)

More tales of my adventures in Cannon Beach later. :)

I’m a bad blogger… :(

August 11, 2007

I’m so so sorry for anyone who reads this blog. :( I’ve been on vacation for the last week and forgot to mention it. I will post many many pictures soon of my finished knitting projects that have been finished over the last few days. :) I know, finally FOs!!

So I’m off to go knit some more since I’m on a project-finishing-rampage. :) Pictures soon!

About Me

August 1, 2007

100 Things About Me:

 1. I’m obsessed with knitting (obviously)

2. I’ve been knitting since I was in 6th grade.

3. Which has been 3 (almost 4) years now.

4. My aunt’s mom taught me how to knit at Thanksgiving.

5. She inspires me to just knit and knit. She’s crocheted and knitted so many things.

6. My aunt’s mom and I love to read the same series. (Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series)

7. My first project was a scarf that was knitted with RedHeart and size 15 US needles was only 7 stitches wide and had a hole where I dropped several stitches.

8. I dream of being famous for my knitting.

9. If there is a knitter’s award ceramony and I won, I would dedicate my award to my aunt’s mom.

10. I dream of living on the East Coast.

11. Or California.

12. I also want to be an architect when I “grow up”.

13. Or a design engineer. Possibly an enviromental engineer and solve the global warming problems.

14. I want to go to Standford and get a lot of money in scholarships.

15. I might want to be a pastry chef or a real estate agent or an alchemist. :)

16. I don’t know exactly what I want to do when I get out of high school.

17. I have a very good relationship with both of my parents.

18. My older sister (by 4 years) is my best friend and I love her to death.

19. We plan to go to Hawaii when I graduate from high school and she graduates from the UW (University of Washington) in about 3 years.

20. My family is starting to talk about going to Disney Land when I graduate. (Which would be in 2010 and will be 10 years since the last time we went)

21. I live closer to my rival high school than I do my actual highschool. (on the borderline)

22. I am on my high school’s bowling team. JV freshman year. And I will be on Varsity next year.

23. Bowling is my life.

24. So is tennis.

25. And knitting.

26. I won the Coach’s Award this year in tennis.

27. My tennis partner is almost a foot shorter than me.

27. I love being 6 feet tall.

28. Tennis players from Snohomish High School are mean.

29. I’ve broken a tennis racket. : )

30. After getting a new tennis racket, I realized that the one I broke was a kid’s racket and I was using it for over half of my tennis season.

31. I love my new tennis racket. It makes the sweetest sound I’ve ever heard a racket make.

32. On my JV team, I started out being #5 doubles and I ended the season being #1 and #2 doubles.

33. I played my first singles match ever at #4 singles and lost.

34. One day at tennis practice, there was a challenge match that the girls on the team called Freshmen (me and my partner) vs. Seniors.

35. We lost. 7 to 9. They won by duece on the second serve.

36. I played tennis last week and I got a sunburn. : )

38. I have a horrible ankle tan line from my socks.

39. I refuse to wear flip flops. And I rarely wear flats.

40. I love to wear skirts and shorts.

41. Shopping for jeans suck. (You think it’s hard for you? Try being a size 1-2 and having a 35 inch inseam, then tell me if you think it’s harder to find jeans for you)

42. I love to wear jeans.

43. I hate people who think they are cool just because they have a brand name written across their chest.

44. My “friends” from my middles school suck and are horrible people.

45. I finally met my true best friend this year.

46. She went to the rival middle school.

47. She and sarcasm fit hand in hand.

48. She is the only friend that I can say what I feel and what I think of anything and she understands. She’s the best friend I’ve ever had that can say anything to me as well. We can argue with each other and make each other mad on purpose and then just laugh about it.

49. She is my tennis partner.

50. Our JV coach calls us “Hollsey” and “Kellis”.

51. If you play tennis against us, you would think that I am this twig thing that will snap in half and that she looks small and wimpy. Looks can be decieving.

52. I got the nicknames “bones”, “slimjim”, “kelsinator”, and many others.

53. I rarely do my math homework.

54. Math is rediculously easy for me. On my last test I got 97% (missed 1 question by a dumb mistake) and I was only 1 of 5 to get an A.

55. I have a 4.0 this semester.

56. I got a 3.95 by 1 A- last semester.

57. A high school requirement is one semester of info tech. Yeah, even though I did year book for 3 years in middle school and I took info tech twice too.

58. I waived the class.

59. The waiver test to me 3.5 hours. After school. Until 5:30.

60. My bedroom is teal.

61. Teal and turquoise are the best colors on earth. I love colors. There isn’t one I don’t like.

62. I have a bad habbit of knitting a billion projects at once.

63. I think I failed at my New Year’s resolution.

64. It was to knit one project at a time.

65. I am knitting 5 pairs of socks at one time.

66. None of them are even near completion.

67. I’m working on the same cardigan for (as of this month) 2 whole years. I only have the back, left front, and a third of the right front done.

68. I love peanut butter.

69. When I was in 1st and 2nd grade I would eat puff cheatos and peanut butter. It is and always will be one of the best combinations next to chocolate and peanut butter.

70. I couldn’t live without peanut butter.

71. I have pyrophobia (fear of fire)

72. I had it really bad when I was younger. I remember very vividly that one night I was so scared that the house would catch on fire that I had to have my light on all night long  and I checked my outlets 20 times.

73. I have a fear of getting shot. (depressing, I know)

74. I have a fear of ghosts. I refuse to watch shows with them, hear stories about them or anything. I still get freaked out.

75. I can’t be in the bathroom at midnight. (I’ve heard the Bloody Mary story too many times)

76. When I heard she can get you from going through the toilet I swore that I would never go in a bathroom at midnight or during the hour of 3 in the morning.

77. I will never watch the Omen. You can’t make me.

78. I barely made it through watching the Shining (which I would watch again).

79. I can’t watch horror movies.

80. I get freaked out very easily.

81. I love the days that my sister and I can go somewhere and hang out and enjoy each other.

82. I swear to myself that I will never drink, do drugs, or smoke. The side affects make it not worth it.

83. I love knitting foods.

84. I have two blogs.

85. I have a myspace.

86. My first myspace account kept on getting hacked onto so I had to make a new one.

87. I really want to do volleyball next year.

88. I think that I am farely good at volleyball but at the same time I don’t know if I’m good enough to make the team.

89. I kinda want to model.

90. Actually, I really want to.

91. At least everyone thinks I should seriously consider it. Truth is I have and I want to.

92. My mom talks a lot about how sad it’s going to be when I graduate high school.

93. I really can’t wait.

94. I love the Harry Potter series. :)

95. I can’t wait to get a job.

96. I have mixed feeling about what I’m going to do exactly in my future. (Along the lines of college, and work, and where I want to live)

97. I’ve always wanted to live in a huge house. At least 3 floors.

98. I see myself with a semi-big family (in the future)

99. I love to be emotional. Whether it’s being completely sad when I’m sad, completely happy when I’m happy, or being completely angry when I’m angry.

100. I love to be happy.
